Coshocton County Extension is pleased to announce the new Plant and Pest Diagnostic Clinic beginning July 10, 2018. Anyone with questions about vegetable gardening, flowers, weeds, lawns, trees, bugs, and more is invited to visit the OSU Extension Office on Tuesdays from 9:00 AM – noon and Thursdays from 1:00-4:00 PM. Extension staff and Master Gardener Volunteers will diagnose plant and pest problems and answer gardening questions. Phone calls are also welcome during this time at 740-622-2265. Samples and questions may be submitted to the office at any time during the week and responses will be made during these clinic hours. The clinic will run through the end of October and then begin again next April.
OSU Extension and the Master Gardener Volunteers look forward to serving the public through this Plant and Pest Clinic and hope to hear from you. The OSU Extension Office is located in Room 110 of the County Services Building, 724 South 7th Street, Coshocton.
Ohio State Extension in Coshocton County offers the following free services:
- Plant and weed identification and management information
- Insect identification and management information
- Plant disease identification and management information
- Soil sample analysis interpretation
- Answers to other general questions
When submitting a sample, please remember that more is better. Both healthy and diseased leaves or plant parts should be included in the sample. When possible, include the roots and soil from samples involving smaller plants (like turf and garden vegetables). Information about fertilizers and pesticides used on the plants or in the vicinity of the area the plants are growing should also be included.
