Ohio State University Extension in Coshocton County will offer two free food preservation workshops at the Coshocton County District Library.
Canning Basics class will be Wednesday, March 19 from 6:30-7:30 PM. Learn about the differences between water bath canning and pressure canning, and why it is important to use the correct process to produce safe food. Participants will be able to view different types of canners, jars, and lids. The class is free, but registration is required at coshoctonlibrary.org/events .
A Making Jams and Jellies workshop will be Monday, April 21 from 6:30-7:30 PM. This is a hands-on class to learn to make freezer jam and canned jams and jellies. Learn about equipment and recipes. The class is free, but registration is required beginning late March at coshoctonlibrary.org/events .
