We are pleased to welcome Evelyn Morrison as the new Community Development Educator for Coshocton County. Evelyn recently graduated from Miami University with a degree in Public Administration and Sustainability. Originally from Stark County, she is passionate about supporting rural communities through economic development, workforce initiatives, and meaningful local partnerships. Evelyn brings valuable experience in grant writing, community engagement, and economic research, gained through her work with the Preble County Development Partnership and AmeriCorps. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing pickleball, and spending time with friends and her cat, Tilman.
In broad partnership with others, OSU Extension creates opportunities for people to explore how science-based knowledge can improve social, economic, and environmental conditions. Our overarching goal is to ensure Ohioans have the knowledge and resources they need to actively engage in creating conditions in which they thrive. As a professional focused exclusively on Community Development, Evelyn’s role will complement the efforts of the existing OSU Extension staff in Coshocton County. She will engage in initiatives aimed at addressing opportunities and needs in areas such as:
- Community Economic Development
- Leadership Development
- Organizational Development
- Civic Engagement
These efforts will be carried out in collaboration with the Coshocton County Regional Planning Commission, Port Authority, Chamber of Commerce, Board of Commissioners, other local government entities, non-profit organizations, and engaged residents.
The addition of this new Program Area was made possible through a generous grant from the Schooler Family Foundation, which will help offset the costs of this full-time position.
