Ohio State University Extension will offer the ServSafe® Manager Food Safety Training course on Tuesdays, March 4, 11 and 18 from 9 AM until 4 PM with the proctored exam Tuesday, March 25 at 9 AM. The ServSafe® Manager series will be held at the Coshocton County Services Building. Cost of the course is $175 and class size is limited to 15 participants. Pre-registration is required at go.osu.edu/servsafecoshocton by February 21.
The ServSafe® Manager training meets Ohio Department of Health Manager Certification in Food Protection requirements by providing in-depth food safety and safe food handling education for owners, managers, and operators within the food service industry. This training enhances understanding of major food safety principles, including factors leading to contamination of food, time and temperature abuse, cross-contamination and personal hygiene. Program participants will receive a textbook and take the National Restaurant Association ServSafe® certification examination. Those successfully completing the course and passing the exam will receive Ohio Department of Health Manager Certification in Food Protection certificates.
A separate “Person in Charge: Know and Show” certification training will be Monday, May 12 from 9 AM to 2 PM at the Coshocton County Services Building. Those successfully completing the course will receive Ohio Department of Health Person in Charge Certification in Food Protection certificates. Cost for the class is $25 and pre-registration is required at go.osu.edu/coshoctonpic by May 5.
