Curious about what it takes to earn a blue ribbon with canned foods at the Coshocton County Fair? Come learn about the judging criteria for canned foods categories while exploring recommendations for safely canning foods. Emily Marrison, Family and Consumer Sciences Educator, will teach about the differences between water bath canning and pressure canning, and why it is important to use the correct process to produce safe and high-quality food. Participants will be able to view different types of canners, jars, lids, and other helpful tools.
The Blue Ribbon Canning class will be Wednesday, April 29 from 5:30-7:00 PM at Coshocton County Services Building, 724 S. 7th Street, Room 145, Coshocton.
